amfori BSCI helps businesses identify and improve social risks across supply chains. According to amfori’s official guidance, BSCI is not a certification. Audit reports contain ratings from A to E based on evidence collected through interviews, document review and site observation.

Target and Walmart Customer Audits
Large retailers may apply their own supplier qualification and monitoring requirements. Target states that its responsible sourcing program assesses manufacturing conditions, worker treatment, environmental practices, applicable laws and its Standards of Vendor Engagement. Walmart states that suppliers may be required to make products, facilities and records available for audits, inspections and tests.

Factory Audits Do Not Replace Product Testing
A factory can have a strong management system while a specific product still needs electrical, chemical, mechanical or labeling assessment. UL and ETL generally relate to product safety certification in North America. CE marking applies only where relevant EU legislation requires it, while RoHS and REACH address particular hazardous-substance and chemical obligations.
